Annual Awards Ceremony for students of the Community Training & Education Centre

  

Awards Ceremony December 2009

The largest ever Annual Presentation of Awards Ceremony for graduates of the Community Training & Education Centre – CTEC - took place on Monday 7th December at Whites Hotel in Wexford. In excess of 400 people have undertaken courses at CTEC during the last year, with some 225 graduates and their families attending the Annual Presentation of Awards Ceremony last week.  This year, graduates received a wide array of certifications including the JEB Teacher’s Diploma in ICT and FETAC level 5 National Certificates in Childcare,richard mille replica watches Business Studies and Healthcare Support.  In addition, many students were awarded Equalskills, ECDL and Microsoft certificates as well as FETAC component certificates.  Guest speaker, Leas Cheann Comhairle Brendan Howlin referred to CTEC as a dynamic organisation providing excellent training and education programmes at a time when many people are in need of retraining and up-skilling. Congratulating the graduates on their achievements he then presented JEB Teacher’s Diplomas in ICT Skills to the class of 2009, who are now qualified to teach ICT skills in adult education centres in Ireland and the UK. 

Joy O’Driscoll, CEO of the County Wexford Childcare Committee in her address spoke of the professionalism of CTEC, the high standards of courses the organisation provided in Childcare and presented FETAC level 5 National Certificates in Childcare.  Many of those receiving certificates had availed of course funding from FÁS and the Department of Social and Family Affairs.  Mr Tom Murphy, Senior Training Advisor FÁS Services to Business, presented certificates in FETAC level 3 Computer Literacy, Equalskills, ECDL and Microsoft to a large number of students and also wished CTEC and its students continued success.  Mr Martin Quilty, representing FETAC, presented a wide variety of FETAC component awards in Childcare, Business Studies and Healthcare.  Also attending the Ceremony was Mr Pat Quill representing Department of Social and Family Affairs.
