ESF and Irish Government Funded Programmes

CTEC sources funding from the European Social Fund and the Irish Government whenever opportunities arise.  We are currently running the following funded programmes.

Programme for Employment, Inclusion and Learning – PEIL  “Wexford Women Working” October 2019

Great news for Wexford Women –

Following on from the very successful PEIL (Programme for Employment, Inclusion and Learning) programme delivered by CTEC between 2017-2019 and which resulted in 72% of the students gaining employment,  CTEC has once again been successful in applying for ESF PEIL grants, this time securing two grants – one for Healthcare and Childcare training and one for Enterprise development.

The Healthcare and Childcare training is open to Women not in Paid Employment or in receipt of Social Welfare Payment Women in receipt of Carer’s, lone parent or disability allowance are eligible.  Eligible applicants will be interviewed for places.  Courses are starting in early November so call CTEC on 053-9121036 or info@ctecwexford.ie for more information or to apply for any of the courses.  Courses run one day per week and there are no classes over the Christmas or summer school holidays.

  • QQI level 5 Health Service Skills
  • QQI level 6 Early childhood Care & Education

Enterprise Programme for Women

The Enterprise Programme for Women will be delivered one day per week and is open to women who would like to start or develop their own business.  This course offers QQI Business qualifications along with expert advice and support for women who are either hoping to start a new business venture or women who need support in progressing or expanding their business.

This programme is co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning.

Programme for Employment, Inclusion and Learning – PEIL  “Wexford Women Working” – May 2017

This project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014-2020.

Programme runs from April 2017 to March 2019

The Programme for Employment, Inclusion and Learning, PEIL for short, is the only ESF programme in Ireland for the 2014 to 2020 period. CTEC received funding under Priority 3 of this initiative – Investing in Education, Training and Life Long Learning with a view to up-skilling and re-skilling the labour force.  This funding is aimed at women in the home who are not in receipt of a social welfare payment and who are currently inactive.

The aim of CTEC’s programme  is to train 80 women in either Healthcare, to achieve the QQI level 5 Certificate in Health Service Skills, or in Childcare, to achieve the QQI Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education at either level 5 or level 6.   The courses run one day per week and training courses are all fully funded.  Participants do not receive a training allowance while on the programme.

Digital Skills for Citizens

This programme is funded by the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment

Programme starts January 2017 and is currently ongoing

CTEC has been awarded funding under this initiative to deliver Digital Skills Training in County Wexford and can offer FREE Digital Skills courses to eligible participants.  In collaboration with Wexford County Libraries and a number of Community Organisations, CTEC is running courses aimed to provide people with the confidence and skills to participate in today’s digital world that are fully funded by this grant.

 Course Content:

  • Introduction to Internet, Internet Safety & Security
  • Email, Social Media, Online Banking and Security
  • Online Government Services, Shopping Online

Courses will be delivered over 5 sessions 2 hours per week in various locations throughout the county.  Each class will have a maximum of 10 students.  Owners of small businesses (<10 people) are also eligible for this free training.  CTEC is happy to arrange classes for community groups on site so long as participants meet any one of the following criteria: 

  • Over 45+
  • Farming communities
  • Small Business owners (<10 people)
  • Unemployed Persons
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Disadvantaged groups

Digital Skills Courses, Training, for Citizens at CTEC Wexford

Integration of Immigrants

This programme is funded by the Department of Justice and Equality under the National Funding to Promote the Integration of Immigrants

Programme runs from October 2017 to October 2018

CTEC was awarded funding under the National Funding to Promote the Integration of Immigrants initiative to provide English language training courses to immigrants to Ireland.  Classes are delivered at Beginners, Improvers and Advanced levels and help participants with vocabulary, pronunciation and sentence construction. Participants also participated in a number of trips to local events as part of this programme.

Funded Courses, Training, Learning at CTEC Wexford   PEIL | Programme for Employment, Inclusion and Learning at CTEC    EU-ASYLUM-MIGRATION-INTEGRATION-FUND-CTEC-TRAINING

QQI level 5 Health Service Skills – Part-time Training Course – February to December 2019

This course enables individuals to work as Healthcare Assistants, working under supervision in a variety of healthcare settings.  The course is delivered by CTEC and funded by the Wexford Chamber Skillnet for eligibility participants.

Eligibility

This course is FREE to those in receipt of a social welfare payment or those who satisfy criteria, as outlined on the Wexford Chamber Skillnet website. https://skillnet.wexfordchamber.ie/courses/

Duration

The programme is delivered one day a week, every Monday, commencing 25th February, from 9.30-4.30

Venue

CTEC, Norse Gate House, St Peter’s Square, Wexford

Places are limited and will be allocated after an interview process and Garda Vetting will be required to gain entry onto this programme.

QQI 6 Early Childhood Care & Education Part-time Course.

This course enables individuals to work as Supervisors or Classroom Leaders in an Early Childcare and Education Environment.  the course is funded for eligibility participants by the Wexford Chamber Skillnet and delivered by CTEC.

Eligibility

This course is FREE to those in receipt of a social welfare payment or those who satisfy criteria, as outlined on the Wexford Chamber Skillnet website – https://skillnet.wexfordchamber.ie/courses/

Duration

The programme is delivered one day a week, every Thursday, commencing 28th February, from 9.30-4.30
